obit from Lloyd James for Marion Terrell

Marion Leroy (Lee) Terrell passed away in his home on August 25, 2012.

 

Mr. Terrell was born in Hopkins County, Texas, on August 13, 1920, to Ruel L. Terrell and Rose McCormack Terrell. He attended Gilmer schools from elementary through high school. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, where he was the Quartermaster on an LCT landing craft in the Aleutian Islands in Alaska.

 

After WWII Mr. Terrell returned to East Texas. In 1947, he married Helen Jewel Hendrix. Mr. Terrell worked for a variety of companies including Continental Baking Company, Malcolm Young's Humble Station, Lever Brothers, Blackburn Produce, and USI until his retirement in 1985.

 

Mr. Terrell is preceded in death by his wife Helen Hendrix Terrell. He is survived by his daughter Lana Jo Terrell of Leander, Texas.

 

A private graveside service will be held in Rose Hill Cemetery on Wednesday, August 29, 2012.

 

Honorable pallbearers are Les Sulser, Kirk Meadows, Randy Meadows, and Anthony Bickerdike.
