Obit for Glenda Cox
Funeral services for Glenda Evonne Cox, 75, of Humble will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 12, 2012, at Lloyd James Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Roy F. Thoene officiating. Burial will be in the Rock Hill Cemetery in Brownsboro under the direction of Lloyd James Funeral Home.
She was born on April 5, 1937 in Troup to Rev. John H. and Eula Mae Kilgore Barkley and passed away on Thursday, December 4, 2012 in Humble.
Glenda graduated from Whitehouse High school and Federal Institute of Tyler.
She was an accomplished business woman. She served as President of Tyler and Houston Chapters of Association of Legal Administrators, as well as Regional Vice President and committee member on Long Range Planning Committee and Nominating Committee of the National Association of Legal Administrators. Glenda was employed as legal secretary and later as legal administrator of firms in both Houston and Tyler, retiring from Ramey & Flock in 2001. Mrs. Cox and her late husband, Don, later owned their own business- Rock Hill Antiques & Collectables. She enjoyed antiquing and traveling.
Mrs. Cox is survived by her son, Lawrence Cox, and wife Debbie ; Daughter Janis and Husband Jimmy Coyle; four grandchildren, Brother-in-law Buck Brown and his daughters Judy Cofer and Husband Bruc, and Rebecca DuBose and Husband Henry. Along with other family members including nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and cousins, and valued friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Don D. Cox; sister, Nelda Barkley Brown; and nephew, Ronald Buck Brown.
There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service.
