obit for Jeffrey Wilson

Jeffrey Lynn Wilson, age 53, of Tyler, passed away in the early morning hours of Thursday, September 6, 2012 at his home.  Jeff was born on October 31, 1958 in Junction City, Kansas to Ray A. and Rita Paddie Wilson; they preceded him in death.  Jeff married Shirley Parker on January 29, 1982 in Tyler and together they spent the next 31 years living as best friends and creating a lifetime of memories that will live on in the hearts of those they knew and loved.  Jeff was a truck driver by and trade and loved the open road.  He was proud to have graduated from T.K. Gorman Catholic School and loved playing golf, fishing, and playing his guitar.  Jeff had a profound love of children and enjoyed his time volunteering at Opportunities of Tyler where he worked with special needs children.  Jeff was the back bone of his family and light of everyone's life.  Our loss is heaven's gain and his memory will forever be cherished.

Jeff is survived by his wife Shirley; two sons, Benjamin Wilson, and wife Casey, and Dylan Wilson all of Tyler; three brothers, Gary Wayne Wilson, and wife Katherine, of Arlington, John Wilson of Tyler, and Ron Wilson, and wife Geri Lyne, of Denver; and by numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Services for Jeffrey Wilson will be held at 10 A.M., Monday, September 10, 2012 at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Tyler.  Burial will follow at Bascom Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 4 – 6 P.M., Sunday evening with a rosary service at 5 PM at Lloyd James Funeral Home.
