Services for Mary Elsie Ponder, 72, of Tyler are scheduled for 2:00pm, Thursday, October 10, 2013 in Lloyd James Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Dudley officiating. Burial is in Meador Cemetery under the direction of Lloyd James Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
Mrs. Ponder passed away on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 in Tyler
She was born on February 21, 1941 in Rusk to the late Jack and Julia Barnette Pierson Harris. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 55 years, Leo Ponder; brothers, Clifford and Howard Harris; son, Jerry Glen Ponder and daughter Shirley Ann Ponder.
She is survived by daughter Julia Owens and husband Norman of Tyler; daughter Marilyn Salzar and husband Tommy of Houston; grandchildren, Dawn McLain, Fawn Kerr, Michael Owens, Kevin Salzar; Cassey Salzar, Craig Salzar, Kyle Salzar and Mary Pierce and several great grandchildren.
